Abstract :
Introduction. Being a parent need of preparedness in caring of the baby. Lack of mother’s readiness may be cause anxiety, especially in primiparous mothers. The objective of the research is to analyze the relationship between mother‘s readiness in caring for infant with primiparous post partum women anxiety level. Method. The research using descriptive correlational research with cross sectional design. The populations were all primiparous post partum women at working area of the public health service center Jagir Surabaya. Samples was taken by purposive sampling technique with 20 respondents. Data were collected by using questionnaire and observation sheets then analyzed by using Spearman’s Rho correlation test with a significance level of p<0,05. Results. Result showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge (p=0,012) and skills (p=0,004) post partum primiparous anxiety levels. Conclusion. Mother’s readiness in caring for infant has a relationship with primiparous post partum women anxiety level. Health workers are expected to increase outreach in an effort to improve the knowledge and skills of the post partum women.
