Case study : suspect feline infectious peritonitis (fip) of cat in surabaya

Abstract :
This case study was performed to find out case relation which found in the field with clinical examination,anatomy pathology and histopathology changes, supported by few literature and many source, to determine few possibility of reason and to decide next action to cope with the same epidemic in the future. By the end of 2004, 4 cats were taken care at one of the animal clinique in South Surabaya. Data which collected from this case was, 2 of 4 cats were taken to the Laboratory of Veterinary Pathology Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,Airlangga University. All of them were breed of Angora with age between 1 until 2 years, to be necropsied and to beanalized based from tissue morphology changes. Result of necropsy showed changes of Poliserositis or difuse nodule 2 until 3 mm in peritonium, lever, lung,heart, with hydrothorac, ascites. Based on organ morphology changes, tissue changes, and histopathologic view, it wasaim at a feline most infectious disease, Feline Infectious Peritonitis, wet form. Considering that disease is quite difficult to handle and based from few information the use of vaccine yet uneffective so must be notice especially for cat breeder in Indonesian. FIP vaccine first use in 1991 in USA meanwhile in Indonesiastill unavailable till now.
