Abstract :
The development of early pregnancy diagnosis method in dairy cows can be undertaken by observing specific substance presents in the milk of pregnant cows, i.e. the Pregnancy Associated Glycoprotein (PAG). The objective of this study was to prove that anti-PAG was able to recognize PAG protein from milk of pregnant dairy cow as the base for developing one of early pregnancy test in dairy cows. This study was conducted by following stages: 1) synchronization of estrus and artificial insemination and 2)identification of PAG protein in the milk at 21 and 28 days post AI. The result showed that average of concentration of PAG protein in the milk at 21 days post AI are 370,221 µg/ml and 716,317 µg/ml. Based on the results, it can be concluded that dairy cows pregnancy diagnosis with identification of PAG protein at 28 day after AI has more reliable validation value as compared at 21 day after AI.
