Effect of electrical field on the death of staphylococcus aures in milk

Abstract :

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of electrical field on thedeath of Staphylococcus aureus (S.aureus)in milk. The subject of this research were 7500ml sterilized milk and inokulated by 106 CFU/ml S. aureus. The research was arrangedby Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatment and five replications. Thetreatments were K = 250 ml sterilized milk and inokulated by 106 CFU/ml S. aureus,P1 = 250 ml sterilized milk inokulated by 106 CFU/ml S. aureus + 10 V , P2 = 250 mlsterilized milk, inokulated by 106 CFU/ml S. aureus + 15 V, P3 = 250 ml sterilized milk,inokulated by 106 CFU/ml S. aureus + 20 V. The data were total of S. aureusin milkbefore and after the electrical treatment. The data were analyzed by using Analysis ofVariant (ANOVA), followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The result showed thatthe addition of electrical power on milk did not show significantly affect (p>0,05) ontotal number of S. aureus among each treatment according to the result, but the total ofS. aureus between control and treatment (electrical power) was different on total numberof S. aureus.
