Abstract :
The aim of this study was to determine whether there is any contamination of Campylobacter sp. on raw chicken meat satay. Twenty samples of raw chicken meat satay bought from five satay vendor were used in this study. The isolation and identification method of Campylobacter sp. was done by culturing on media agar base with Campylobacter Supplement V and incubated under microphylic condition at 42oC. The suspected colony growth with the characteristics showed like dew drops on media agar base. Further characteristics of the suspect isolate was than determined by catalase test, Gram stainne, showed in SIM media, and hyppurate hydrolysis test. The Campylobactersp. showed negative Gram stainning, curved road shaved, non spore, positive catalase test, negatif indol test, didn‟t produce sulfide gas, motile and could hydrolyse hyppurate. The data was than analysed descriptively. It could be conclude six samples (30%) were detemined as Campylobacter sp. isolates.
