Abstract :

This study aims to determine the presence of vibriosis caused by Vibrio sp in thegrouper (Ephinepheleus fuscoguttatus) in getting out of coastal waters Bangsring andKetapang, Banyuwangi. Clinical symptoms characterized by red spots (hemorrhage) inthe ventral and lateral body, pale skin lesions, and exopthalmia. Isolation and identificationin this study using TCBS agar, SIM agar, SC agar, TSI agar, Gram stain and catalase test.Samples used as many as 20 fishes, and the results showed the symptoms as much as8 fishes, while the biochemical tests showed there are 4 fishes are positive and 4 fishesare negative. The data obtained by calculating the percentage of positive samples weretaken from samples that show clinical symptoms of vibriosis, and the results indicatethe percentage of the value of 50%. The conclusion from this study is that the grouperwere taken randomly from some coastal waters in Banyuwangi already infected withvibriosis. Those figures obtained indicate that the rate of infection occurs either becausethe management of the marine environment is poor hygiene, or habits of the people whoare still often throw garbage in the sea so polluted brown-marbled grouper.
