Pattern of antibiotics resistance on escherichia coli that isolated from raw milk in surabaya

Abstract :

The main objective of this study was to describe the pattern of antibiotic resistancein Escherichia coli by using Antibiotics Sensitivity Test. Samples were taken from 40dairy cows in Surabaya. Each dairy cow milk samples taken as many as 10 ml of theudder. Samples were put in Brilliant Green Bile Broth (BGBB). Positive results in BGBBcharacterized by discolored BGBB, then the samples followed by wearing Eosin MethyleneBlue Agar (EMBA), and after it was suspected colonies Escherichia Coli (metallic green)confirmed by Indol test. Indol positive colonies, then tested with Antibiotics SensitivityTest. The results showed that 13 of 40 samples suspected of Escherichia coli in EMBAand also produce Indol test positive. Sensitivity Test Antibiotics the use of data resultingin as many as 13 samples of resistance to the antibiotic tetracycline 30 ug, 12 samplesshowed resistance to sulfonamides 25 mg and as many as 11 samples of Escherichia colibacteria resistant to Ampicillin 10 mg.
