Abstract :
Zearalenone is a resorcylic acid lactone compound that is produced by fungal Fusarium graminearum infection of edible grains and is believed to influence reproduction by binding to estrogen receptors. In order to study the potential estrogenic effect of this compound in the mammary gland, we examined the potential of mycotoxin binders to eliminate the effect of zearalenone on the expression of histopathology of the mammary gland experiencing neoplasia in pregnant mice (Mus musculus). We analyzed 20 pregnant mices specimens randomly divided into 5 groups. All groups were given treatment per oral with sonde till 10 days. K+ as positive control weren’t treated zearalenone and mycotoxin binders, K- as negative control were treated with zearalenone 0,1 mg/mice/day, P1 were treated with zearalenone 0,1 mg/mice/day and mycotoxin binders 0,5 mg/mice/day, P2 were treated with zearalenone 0,1 mg/mice/day and mycotoxin binders 1 mg/mice/day, P3 were treated with zearalenone 0,1 mg/mice/day and mycotoxin binders 2 mg/mice/day. The data was compared by ANOVA and to compare the mean differences among treatments tested by Duncan’s multiple range test. The result showed that the amount of grade in neoplasia had a significant difference (p<0,05) between K+, P2, P3 with P1 and K-. The conclusion in this study, mycotoxin binders 1 mg/mice/days is minimumdose to eliminate zearalenone effect.
