Abstract :

The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of worm gastrointestinal disease based on age and breed with Peranakan Ongole (PO) and SIMENTAL cattle in the Subdistrict Laren, District Lamongan. This research has been done on May, 20th 2013- June, 14th 2013 at Department of Parasitology Veterinary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Airlangga University. This research took stool samples from 50 Peranakan Ongole (PO) and 50 Simental cattle. Peranakan Ongole (PO) and Simental cattle were divided into 3 age groups. The first group of 1-6 months old. The second group of 7-24 months old. The third group > 24 months old. Data were analyzed with the formula Prevalence and Chi-Square test to compare the relationship between age and breed of cattle. This study shows the age factor may influence the prevalence of worms, while the factor of breed did not influence the prevalence of worms
