Abstract :

Fourteen the right or left halves of the mandibles obtained from 8 and 6 bone of male and female goat were used on morphometric observations. Morphometric analyses was performed on three angular projection (i.e. A,B and C) were measured to compared in values between both sexes of goat. The „A angle‟ is a projection angle between corpus and ramus of mandible. The „B angle‟ is a projection of a concave curved of caudally border of vertical rami below the condyle, and „C angle‟ is a projection of angulus mandible. Statistical analysis of the data was performed by a multivariate of SPSS Program for Window Version 10.5. No significant defferences on size of A and C angular projection were seen either between the male and female goat. However, the mean values of B angle projection of the female had extremely greater than the male goat (p<0.01). The result indicate that female has more depth but the male has more shallow curve of caudally border of mandible The present observation therefore suggest that the curved caudally border of vertical rami of mandible below the condyle is intended for sex determination of goat.
