The potential of complete feed fermentation use cellulolityc bacteria to increase daily gain of sheep

Abstract :

The purposes of this research was to test potential of complete feed base of waste product on sheep. Eighteen sheep were used and divided into three treatments and six replications using Completely Randomized Design as design experiment. Treatments were tested consist of P0 (complete feed = Control), P2 (complete feed +5% cellulolityc bacteria), P1 (complete feed + 10% cellulolityc bacteria). Sheep productivity were measured by average daily gain (ADG). The data were analyzed with Analysis of Variance followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The result showed that the effect of complete feed fermentation by cellulolityc bacteria could increase the ADG of P2 (114,29 g/tail/day); P1 (101,43 g/tail/day) were significantly higher (p<0.05) than P0 (64,29g/tail/day). It is concluded that complete feed fermentation by cellulolityc bacteria could raise animal performance base on waste product for fed, with the results that were applied on smallholder sheep farm.
