Abstract :

The aim of this study was to find out the resistance of Escherichia coli as the cause of colibacillosisin pig against antibiotics Oxytetracyclin, Gentamycin, Ampicilin sulbactam, Nalidixic acid, Ofloxacin and Meropenem. The samplein this study was isolated from pig suspectcolibacillosis in a pig farm in Loa Duri Ulu village, Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara, East Borneo. Isolation of E. coli using Eosyn Methylene Blue Agar (EMBA). Identification of e. coli using biochemical tests by selecting 3 colonies of E. coli with metallic green distinctive colored with black in the centre of colony on EMBA, then tested on Triple Sugar Iron Agar media (TSIA), Sulfid Indol Motility (SIM), Simon Citrate Agar (SCA), and Methyl Red-Voges Proskauer (MR-VP) and gram staining testto lookthe form and characteristic of Gram. Sensitivity test of E.colito antibiotic using disc diffusion method. Bactery sensitivity grouping to antibiotic refers to the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI 2012), there are sensitive, intermediate and resistant.The result showed that 44 of 75 samples have characteristics like rod shaped, Gram negative, lactose fermented, produce indole, motile and didn’t use citrate. Escherichia colisensitivity test showed that44 isolates were 0% resistant to Meropenem, Ofloxacin, Nalidixic acid, andGentamycin. 47,72% were resistant to Oxytetracyclin and 2,27% were resistant to Ampicilin sulbactam.
