Abstract :

Technology and information development has implications for change information seeking behavior society. The development of information and technology it gave birth to a new pattern of behavior in the utilization of information seeking and information technology to seeking information. That led to the students of Airlangga University Library users should find relevant and accurate information in the center of the explosion by utilizing information and information technology.  The purpose of this study to describe the use and behavior patterns of information seeking scientific journals among students airlangga university library users. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach. This study uses a sampling technique that is non-random sampling purposive sampling. This study uses primary data collection techniques obtained statistical data on the answers of respondents using the method provides a list of questions or questionnaires to respondents; secondary data; observation; as well as literature.  In general there are two things that will be analyzed in this study. In connection with the use and behavior patterns seeking scientific journal information among users of Airlangga University Library. Based on the analysis of data among users of Airlangga University Library also has information needs to be met through the use of the source, channel and media information. The use of scientific journals in the Airlangga University Library users mostly in the form of electronic journals using the internet information channels. Behavioral science journal information seeking among students Airlangga University Library users through the stages starting, chaining, browsing, monitoring, Accessing, differentiating, extracting, verifying, networking, and information manging though skip certain stages and by the way, the media, or activity different. Pattern seeking scientific journal information among Airlangga University Library users have a tendency to be done through electronic media types based information/internet as well as smaller print-based, so there are differences in the way, the media and the activity in conducting seeking phase information of scientific journals
