Organizational citizenship behavior development to improve puskesmas performance

Abstract :
In 2007-2009, out of 45 Puskesmas in Banyuwangi Regency, only three Puskemas with the lowest coverage and needed strong support and reinforcement to improve and increase the visitation of K1 and K4 using Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). The issue of this research is the low coverage of Antenatal Care (ANC) particularly K1 and K4. The purpose of this research is to formulate a recommendation of OCB development efforts to increase ANC services (K1 and K4) visitation in Banyuwangi Regency Puskesmas. This is an observational study using survey approach, conducted from November until December 2010. Sample are 9 Puskesmas, taken by selective sampling method determined by the K1 and K4 achievements with coverage category of good, sufficient, and less sufficient. Research instruments are checklists and closed questionnaires performed with interview technique. Data is analyzed by cross tabulation to comprehend the frequency distribution. Research results showed there was a strong correlation between perception of interaction quality between superiors and subordinates and OCB implementation. The most influential organizational factors supporting OCB implementation were cultural factor and organizational climate. Organizational performance in ANC service in Banyuwangi Regency was sufficient.
