Recommendation on decreasing the employee’s turnover rate using the analysis of pushing and pulling factors

Abstract :
Voluntary turnover has been widely discussed and has become a problem in an organization. One of the concepts of why voluntary turnover happens is the pushing and pulling factors. BaliMed Hospital is a relatively new private hospital in Bali. During its 3 years of establishment, BaliMed employees’ turnover rate in 2008 is as high as 8.68%, in 2009 is as high as 10.42% and in 2010 is as high as 15.76%. The objective of this study is to arrange a recommendation to decrease the employees’ turnover rate at Denpasar BaliMed Hospital by using the analysis of pushing and pulling factors. This is observational research with cross sectional approach. This research conducted on BaliMed Hospital. The samples are medical employees and medical professionals who have quit from BaliMed Hospital. The instrument of this study is questionnaires. The analysis of this study is descriptive with multiple regression. Prestige is a dominant pushing factor influencing employees’ intention to quit from BaliMed Hospital. Pay-roll is a dominant pulling factor influencing employees’ intention to quit from BaliMed Hospital. Prestige is a dominant pulling factor of intention to entrance in employees of BaliMed Hospital.
