Abstract :
The agenesis of permanent teeth will occur if there is no development of one or more permanent teeth element because it hasn’t been formed or the teeth seed hasn’t grown up yet. Agenesis often happens on maxillary lateral incisor, mandibulary central incisor, maxillary and mandibulary second premolar and the third molar. The agenesis of permanent teeth can disturb the dentofacial esthetic and function. If there are some teeth agenesis, there will be spaces and tooth malposition so orthodontic treatment is needed to solve the problem. The purpose of this treatment is maintain the established teeth, improve facial esthetic so emotion, psychological condition, function of mastication and speech will get better. Some variations of treatment plans are extraction of the decidous teeth, maintaining the decidous teeth, diastema closure, or maintaining diastema and using prosthetic as the replacement teeth for the agenesis. The conclusion of this paper is that the orthodontic treatment for agenesis permanent teeth is not same for every case.
