Abstract :

HIV was a disease that poses a complex problem. HIV patients  require the presence of family at his side. Family social support and the attention of others can make decrease his stress problem. The purpose of this research was to identify family social support to HIV patient in UPIPI RSUD Dr. Soetomo. This research use descriptive analysis design. The population of patient with HIV was patients in UPIPI RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya. The sample were taken by purposive way and there were 10 respondents that appropriate with inclusion and exclusion sampling criteria. This research consist of research’s variable that is social support domain. Data were taken by giving questionnaire to respondents. The result showed that all four variables of family support are emotional suport , esteem support, instrumental support and informative support have varying levels. The conclusion is the social support giving and respon to HIV patient vary depending on the demographics of each respondent. The level of provision of family social support and the respon have sufficient and good value.
