Abstract :

ABSTRACT The high numbers of immunization coverage based on the routine report has not been followed by a decline in Vaccine-Preventable Disease cases. Efforts to improve immunization programs need spesific data and information that is not available through routine reports. Immunization coverage survey conducted in seven district/municipal aim to get a description about the completeness of immunization, valid dose, the reasons for immunization failure and place to get immunization. The survey was conducted in the Surabaya city, Bangkalan district, Sumenep, Blitar, Jember, Lumajang and Malang. Survey method using rapid survey of immunization coverage developed by WHO in Immunization Coverage Cluster Survey - Reference Manual. Population surveys for the routine immunization coverage was children aged 12–2 months. Survey results showed that there are differences about number of coverage survey from survey and from routine report. Obstacles that the reason for not getting immunized based on survey results are the lack of need for immunization, fear of side effects and the potential for missed opportunies. Immunization coverage according to the results of the survey indicate that the number of immunization completeness and valid dose below herd immunity and UCI. Drop-out immunization also occur due to differences in the numbers of BCG immunization coverage with measles immunization. The health services to obtain immunization are Posyandu, public health centers and midwife’s home. Keywords: immunization coverage, routine immunization, East Java
