Abstract :
This research tries to examine the relation between photo journalism and foreign policy change. The writer uses photo journalism and foreign policy theory to identify photos of Saigon Execution and analyze the foreign policy change, the writer use various scholars analysis on the role of mass media and public opinion in shaping foreign policy. The Vietnam Was as the background of this research is limited to the period of 1964 to 1970. The initial hypothesis in this study lied on the ability of mass media, particularly visual content such as photos that can generate influence on public’s response to an issue and trigger an action from public to respond the issue. At the end of this study, the writer answers on what extend photo journalism as a product of mass media can influence foreign policy change after the publication of Saigon Execution.
