Peran ucav dalam penerapan strategi clausewitz dan war on terror: kasus operasi as di wilayah fata tahun 2004-2012

Abstract :

This research explains about the role and influence of UCAV toward principles of strategy and War on Terror policy at U.S. operation in FATA region from2004  through  2012.  This  research  explains  about  how  UCAV  can  optimalize precision bombing, strategic bombing, through decapitation bombing which iscombined with the virtual war theory by James Der Derian. In fact, there is no fundamental change in principle of attacking on decisive points and principleof  surprise.  But  the  use  of  UCAV  in  that  case  shows  an  influence  toward principle of superiority of numbers which no longer be a must that have to beimplemented  because  of  UCAV’s  ability  to  apply  pinpoint  strike  and  it’s  high technology,  it’s  ability  to  implement  the  principle  of  surprise,  theassymmetrical situation that’s been created by UCAV, and difficult situation to delineate front-line and defense-line. Beside that, the use of UCAV in that casecan  effectively  optimalize  precision  bombing  through  decapitation  and strategic bombing, fulfill the tactical objectives and influence the tendency toconduct an operation that reduce direct involvement of human in battlefield.
