Abstract :

Information and technological revolution led to the Internet as a forum for sharing information. In view of Marxism, the internet has two dimensions, emancipatory and explorative. These two-dimensional analysis deliver the internet into two contraposition analogy; bourgeois and proletarian. Contraposition is manifested in the policy of restriction information, called SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act). Using a Marxist perspective in analyzing the phenomenon of global internet network, this paper explains hackers as a result of the emergence of bourgeois hegemony over the proletariat. Hackers appear as resistance to comodification and equalization of "language" by the hegemon.
