Histopathology of renal male rats of femoral fracture with cissus quadrangularis plant extract and calcium carbonate therapy

Abstract :

Cissus quadrangularis is a plant used often to treat fracture and very good for bone healing process. The aim of this study was conducted renal histopathology of male rats after reposition of femoral fracture with therapy Cissus quadrangularis and calcium carbonat. This study used 18 male rats, 3 weeks of age. The rats were adaptation for a week, and than all rats were treated reposition of femoral dexter fracture with intramedullary pin fixation. The rats model were randomly divided into three groups at 2 weeks after survey. Groups I treated with normal diet, groups II with normal diet + Cissus quadrangularis 500 mg/day, and groups III with normal diet + calcium carbonate 150 mg/day. At the end of experiment all the rats were euthanized, subsequently kidney were taken out for determine the histopathological examination. The histophatological examination used Kruskall Wallis test. The results of this study indicated there was noticeable difference between Cissus quadrangularis and calcium carbonate. This study suggested the used of Cissus quadrangularis for fracture treatment was better than calcium carbonate.
