Abstract :

Objective: To report the result of hypoglobus-eyelid-brow ptosis reconstruction after lacrimal benign mesenchymal tumor excision. Method: Case report. A 21 year old woman complained of asymmetric of her eyes and unabled to open and close her right eye after underwent lacrimal benign mesenchymal tumor excision in April 2006. The visual accuity right eye was one meter finger counting and left eye was 6/6. Hypoglobus caused by orbital volume increase after lacrimal benign mesenchymal tumor excision and mild ptosis with levator action 9 mm and ocular motility disorder in all quadrants in the right eye. We perfomed ptosis repair with resection of levator muscle, silicon block implantation in the orbital floor and lateral orbital wall, canthoplasty and direct eyebrow elevation 5 month after tumor excision. Result: Two months after hypoglobus-ptosis-brow and eyelid reconstruction the orbital rim became symmetric and the patient was satisfied cosmetically. Conclusion: Hypoglobus, ptosis and brow ptosis after lacrimal benign mesenchymal tumor excision corrected with silicon block implantation, levator resection and direct eyebrow elevation had satisfied result.
