Abstract :

The aim of eyelid reconstruction is not only to maintain its normal function and good cosmetic but also to cover the eyeball from the environtment. Some times to close a large defect of the eyelid, skin flap is needed for reconstruction. Flap is tissue movement from a part of the body to another part in which the blood supply is maintaned by pedicle or base from the surrounding tissue. Until now, the classification of skin flap still not clear enough but the expert uses vasculer anatomy beneath the flap as a guidance to classify the skin flap. The classification is random and axial pattern flap such as advancement, transpotition, rotation tube flap and flap from a distance; arterial and island flap; and micro vascular free flap. Before doing reconstruction, we must know the principal of face and eyelid surgery such as preparing and evaluating the patient, the technique it self, hemostasis and wound healing.
