Abstract :
This research aimed to determine the assessment tool Play-Based Assessment valid measurewhen compared with the Child Behavior Checklist, to measure sensorimotor skill of pre-schoolchildren. The study was conducted in pre-school children age who are at risk or have a tendencyto be identified as a special needs child, with a number of research subjects as many as 30 people, made up of children from five different institutions in Early Childhood Education (Kindergarten).Assesment tool used as a unit of research, the Play-Based Assessment, which is a finding of ToniW. Linder, and Child Behavior Checklist, which is a finding of Thomas M. Achenbach, as the unitof comparison. Data collection tool that is used in the form of observation using the guidelines inthe sensorimotor domain, a total of six indicators (PBA), and 120 checklist items (CBCL). Dataanalysis was performed with statistical techniques Pearson product moment correlation, withthe help of statistical program SPSS version 16.0 for windows. From the analysis of the researchdata, obtained correlation score between sensorimotor domain with CBCL externalizing scoresr=0.249, with CBCL internalizing score r=0.249, with the CBCL total score r=0.133. This indicatesthat there is discriminant validity between the two assesment tools, so that each measure hasgood different power and actually measure specific constructs.
