Coping pada ibu yang berperan sebagai orangtua tunggal pasca kematian suami

Abstract :

This study aims to determine how coping in the mother who became a single parent after the death of her husband to get through from all the problems that they faced. Coping defined as an effort to change the way of thinking or actions to manage internal and external problems which are assessed so hard and over her capability (Lazarus dan Folkman dalam Mitchell, 2004). This study was conducted at two women after their spouse’s death. The data obtained through interviews with the concerned subject accompanied by significant other interviews. Analysis of the data used in this study is thematic analysis data. The result shows that both subjects experienced hard times after the death of her husband. Both subjects had to adapt to the new situation after the death of her husband, before they can accept the situation. Coping strategies that used are problem focused coping and emotion focused coping.
