Abstract :
Hypercholesterolemia has been proven to be one of the most important risk factors for atherosclerotic vascular disease . This study was intended to find out whether combination of eggs supplemented diet with omega-3 fatty acids, lecithin and vitamin E may reduce blood cholesterol of Hipercholesterolemic Rats. Some experiments done with several dosages omega-3 fatty acid combined with lecithin and vitamin E enriched can significantly reduce blood cholesterol of hipercholesterolemic rats on eggs supplemented diet. Reduction in blood cholesterol of hipercholesterolemic rats is optimally seen on group V (combination of 2 ml egg supplemeted diet with 108 mg/ kg BW omega-3 fatty acid, 36 mg/kg BW lecithin and 18 IU/kg BW vitamin E). This study proved that omega-3 fatty acid combined with lecithin and vitamin E enriched consumption can reduce blood cholesterol level, there would be a strong rationale for promoting lecithin with sea fish consumption to lower death rates from coronary heart disease.
