Abstract :

This paper describes the hindrance in collecting information in global warming issue in two monolingual communities: Bojonegoro and Tuban. The research used in-depth interview to 250 individuals in the tamping communities --the communities that surrounded the forest. The research also used FGD to public figures and related agencies in Bojonegoro and Tuban. Almost all people there do not understand the global warming issues. However, they do have concern for conservation of the environment, especially the forest. The community evidently has developed the understanding as well as the appropriate behavior in relation to the conservation of the environment. The media, that has the nearness of emotions with the community as well as the use of language similar to the way they communicate daily, is the most effective and easiest one to be accepted by the community in the information acquisition in relation to the environment and global warming issue. Involving people in various activities of partnership in the forest management is very effective to make them concern more for the forest environment
