Abstract :
This article elaborates the importance of image and brand for Indonesian diplomacy. The positive image and brand most likely put up the strength for the diplomacy. An image can be constructed or re-constructed by investing an effective symbolic capital and strategy through civic diplomacy. In this context, the government works as the actor of diplomacy, along with the participation of the people and the media, in chorus. Identification of Indonesian symbolic capital and strategy in this article will be carried by implementing the Field, Practice and Habitus (FIPH) Approach of Pierre Bourdieu. By noting the importance of habitus in FIPH Approach, this writing attends to conclusion that there is a call for a paradigm shift collectively among Indonesians in order to make an effectual and efficient diplomatic practice and discourse in international arena.
