Abstract :

This study was conducted to determine the effect of centrifugation time in swim up method on the membrane integrity and necrosis of sperm. This research was conducted during December 2015 – January 2016. The sample used in this study were spermatozoa cell of Sapudi sheep that were divided into two groups, control group and treated group. The centrifugation time were done for control group for 10 minutes while for the treated group for 15 minutes. The data was analysed using T-test followed by F-test. The results showed that the membrane integrity of the spermatozoa in control group was in average of 54.73 ± 2.69, while in treated group was shorter with the average of 36.34 ± 2.65. The necrosis of spermatozoa cell were in average of 42.36 ± 2.56 in control group, while in treated group was higher with the average of 60.9 ± 4.14. The results indicated that there were significant differences between control and treated group.
