Abstract :

Introduction: One common problem of primigravida mother is a long period of time during labor active phase. Local warming on fundus can speed up the skin blood flow and increase the quality of uterine contraction. This situation can effect the opening of services completely in a short period of time. The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of local warming on fundus toward labor acceleration during active phase. Method: Post test only non randomized control group design was used in this study. The population of this research was inpartu primigravida mother during labor active phase whom delivers the baby during May to June 2012 at Private Maternity Clinic in Ngantru Tulungagung. The sample was recruited using consecutive sampling method that consisted of 14 respondents and was divided into 2 groups, control group and treatment group. Data were collected using partograph and were analyzed using Mann Whitney U test with significant level α=0.05. Result: The result showed that  there is an effect local warming on fundus toward labor acceleration in inpartu primigravida mother during labor active phase with the value of p=0.005. Discussion: As conclusion there is an effect of local warming on fundus toward labor acceleration in inpartu primigravida mother during labor active phase. Continuing implementation during this phase is suggested to gain better result, because the longer the period of time the worse the complication endured by the mother and the fetus.
