Abstract :
Introduction: Self concept of street children was a conceptualization that worked by human into theirselves. Environment around street children could affect their self concept formation process. Human self concept developedby the time periode. Street children could have positive self concept if they got social support from their close environment. Methods: This study aimed to identified the relationship between social support with self concept of street children and analyzed relationship between both variables. This study used cross-sectoinal design. Samples were street children in SanggarAlang-alang, Surabaya. Sample size were 30 individuals, recruited using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnare and analyzed by means of Spearmen Rho statistical test with significance level of α<0,05. Result and Analysis: Result of the research there was relationship between social support with self concept in street children with significance level p = 0.000 it means the relationship between two variable was reliable. The limitation in this research was too small sample to be used. Discussion: It could be conclude from this study that there was relationship between social support with self concept in street children. Further studies should involve more respondents and use standardized instrument to obtain better result.
