Antibiotic susceptibility pattern of staphylococcus aureus isolated from mastitis in dairy cattle at argopuro dairy cooperative in krucil probolinggo district

Abstract :

The purpose of this research was to find out the antibiotic susceptibility pattern of S. aureus isolated from milk of mastitis cases of dairy cattle at Argopuro Dairy Cooperative, Krucil. The antibiotic discs used for susceptibility test were oxytetracycline 30µg, penicillin 10U, ampicillin 10µg, cloxacillin 5µg and erithromycin 10µg according to Kirby-Bauer method. Twenty isolates of S. aureus from 21 mastitis casessamples had been identified by microscopic, Gram staining, and biochemical characteristics. The antibiotic susceptibility pattern of S. aureus isolates showed differentiation between each villages, which were non of Kalianang’s isolates were resistance to all of antibiotics, 66,66% of Krucil’s isolates were resistance topenicillin and ampicillin, 50% of Tambelang’s isolates were resistance to erythromycin, 66,66% of Bremi’s isolates were resistance to penicillin, 66,66% of Kertosuko’s isolates were resistance to penicillin and 66,66% Watu Panjang’s isolates were resistance to penicillin, ampicillin and erythromycin.
