Abstract :
The purpose of this research was to find the relaxation effect on smooth muscle of Pangium edule, Pimpinella pruatjan and Justicia gendarussa extracted by using Harvard apparatus electric kymograph. In this research on smooth muscle three different groups of concentration of 10 ppm, 50 ppm and 100 ppm of each were used extract. For the positive controls group acetylcholine (1 ppm), adrenaline (1 ppm) and papaverine (1 ppm) were given. Extracts and drugs that had been prepared were tested on frog gastric smooth muscle isolated immediately from the body of a frog, then soaked with thyrode and bubled by oxygen. Then data were analyzed by comparing peak contraction before and after treatment. Results, in 70% ethanol extract of J. gendarussa (114.85 ppm) 79.1% relaxation was obtained. In methanol extract of P.pruatjan (101.98 ppm) 72.1% relaxation was obtained, in methanol extract P. edule (103.96 ppm) 10.3% relaxation was obtained respectively. From results obtained, was known that solvent the can cause best relaxation was methanol. Further research to determine the effect Pangium edule, Pimpinella pruatjan and Justicia gendarussa extracts on corpus cavernosum smooth muscle, to determine specifically the influence of the penis was expected.
