Abstract :
The main problems in the frozen semen Holstein Friesian cows are poor qualityof semen after thawing. During the freezing process between 20-80% spermatozoa can bedead. The freezing process can also lead to decreased sperm motility due to the influenceof diluent or damage caused by cold shock. This study examined the motility, viability,capacitation, and the expression of cytochrome C on spermatozoa Fresian Holstein bulls(FH) after thawing at a temperature and time given diluter Milk Egg Yolk (SKT). We use24 frozen semen of dairy cows were divided into 5 treatment. The results showed thatat 37 0C temperature and 30 seconds duration have a number of maximum motility andviability, capacitation figures are not too high, and the expression of cytochrome C is low.The conclusion of this study, thawing can be done at 37 0C temperature and 30 secondsduration because of the quality of spermatozoa produced is still quite good.
