Potential of mycotoxin binders on weight and length of fetus pregnant mice (mus musculus) with zearalenone exposure

Abstract :
Zearalenone (ZEN), an estrogenic mycotoxin, is produced mainly by Fusarium fungi. Previous studies indicated that acute ZEN exposure induced oxidative stress and damage in multiple organs. In order to study the potential mycotoxin binders to eleminate the effect of zearalenon and to decrease apoptotic factors in fetal. The research has been done on Desember 2013 till January 2014. We used 20 pregnant mices randomly divided into 5 groups and each other have 4 examination. All groups were given treatment per oral with sonde till 10 days. K+ as positive control weren’t treated zearalenone and mycotoxin binders, K- as negative control were treated with zearalenone 0,1 mg/mice/day, P1 were treated with zearalenone 0,1 mg/mice/day and mycotoxin binders 0,5 mg/mice/day, P2 were treated with zearalenone 0,1 mg/mice/day and mycotoxin binders 1 mg/mice/day, P3 were treated with zearalenone 0,1 mg/mice/day and mycotoxin binders 2 mg/mice/day. The data was analyzed by ANOVA and to compare the mean differences among treatments tested by Duncan’s multiple range test. The result showed that the amount of weight not significant (p>0,05) between K- with K+, P1, P2, P3. The lenght not significant between P2, P3 with K+, K-, P1. The conclusion in this study, mycotoxin binders was not significant to reduce weight and lenght fetus of pregnant mice with exposure zearalenone
