Abstract :

The aim of this study is to know prevalence of distomatosis in slaughtered cattleat Penggaron Semarang abattoir. This research was held on December 2015 – February2016. This research used 100 samples of liver and feces with post-mortem and fecalexamination. The liver samples analysed with post-mortem examination showed thatthere were 17% samples were positively infected by Fasciola sp. Moreover, the fecessample examined with native and sedimentation method showed that 12% sample werepositively infected by Fasciola sp. Since there is no correlational relationship betweenpost-mortem and fecal examination, both of the examinations needs to be investigated toknow Fasciola sp. infection. The combined result of the liver and feces obtained prevalencerate 27%. This research was analysed with Chi-Square method which showed that there isno different prevalence rate on various type of cattle. 12% of Simental crossbreed cattlewere distomatosis positively. 12 % of Limousin crossbreed cattle distomatosis positivelyand 3% of Ongole crossbreed distomatosis positively.
