Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the changes of liver histopathologi after 20 mg/kg BW DMBA (Dimetilbenz[a]antrasen) induced and Eugenia polyantha extract on Sprague dawley rats liver cell. The research has been done on February, 20th 2011- December, 28th 2011 at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,Airlangga University. 20 female rats (Rattus norvegicus strain Sprague dawley) aged 40 days with BW 60-70g were used. The rats Devided into five groups; rats in the first group was only given with DMBA and corn oil; second group was given with CMC-Na and corn oil; The third group was given with Eugenia polyantha extract 250 mg/kg Bw dose and DMBA; The fourth and fifth group were given the same treatment as the third group, only using higher dose of Eugenia polyantha was 500 and 750 mg/kg BW. The data werecompared using Kruskal -Wallis and Mann-Withney test. Statistical comparisons were performed using SPSS18.0 for windows. This research showed that Eugenia polyantha extract with DMBA induction could inhibit necrosis of cells at dose 500 mg/kg BW but Eugenia polyantha all of dose could not inhibit portal inflamation.
