The quality of etawa goat-breed’s frozen semen in various types of diluent

Abstract :

This research was aimed to determine the effect of dilution egg yolk skim, egg yolk tris, and AndroMed® diluent to the quality of etawa goat-breed’s frozen semen. This research used fresh samples of etawa goat-breed’s semen collected in the artificial vagina then were divided into 3 treatment, egg yolk skim (P1), egg yolk tris (P2), and AndroMed® (P3). Then performed the freezing process. Then do the quality check include the percentage of spermatozoa’s motility, viability, and sperm membrane integrity after freezing. Data were analyzed with Anova method (analysis of variance) followed by tukey test. The obtained result showed that there was significant difference between treatments (P<0,05). In this research, the highest percentage of motility, viability, or sperm membrane integrity was obtained from AndroMed® .
