Abstract :
The purpose of this study were to know the function of soil as a transmitter for helminthiasis surrounding the soil habitats of Babyrousa babbyrussa. This study were used 22 soil samples and 25 stool samples from babirussa, using sucrose with specific gravity (SG) 1.2 (floatation method) for soil samples and surfeited sugar for stool samples. The datas were analyzed by using chi square and Spearman correlation. The result were revealed that the eggs of Oesophagostomum sp surrounding the soil habitat and inside the stool samples were 50% and 100% it showed significant (p<0.05). Meanwhile the eggs of Ascaris suum surrounding the soil habitat and inside the stool sampleswere 9.1% and 31.8% it didn't showed significant (p>0.05).Its perform a correlation between Oesophagustomiasis from surrounding the soil habitat and inside the stool, but no correlation between Ascariasis from surrounding the soil habitat and inside the stool.
