Abstract :
Abstract The traditional market is a seller and buyer meet which marked with the directly transaction directly. Traditional traders has competition with the growing number of mall around the market. In addition to the rivalry with fellow traders in traditional markets. The traders of vegetables, fruit and goods have a rational strategy as a way of facing competition. This study raised the issue of (1) how the constraints faced by traditional traders? (2) how rational strategy patterns of traditional traders to its business continuity and benefit? This research uses descriptive research type by using qualitative research methods. The location of the research carried out on the Pasar Kapasan Baru. The results showed that traders face constraints as is services, delivery and payment. In addition to the constraints of time and weather. Constraints that traders by way of establishing relations with the middleman, the consumer (buyer), vendors, officers. In addition to the hard work of the merchants, saving behavior, and religion of the traders.
