Abstract :

TB case finding is one of the indicators of evaluating efforts in tackling TB in a community, that can be carried out both actively and passively. The active case finding is done by cadres of Posyandu in the community. This activity is influenced by knowledge and attitude about the additional task of cadre in tackling TB in the community. The aimed of this study was to analyze the correlation of knowledge and attitude of health cadre about additional task of health volunteers with the case finding of TB in Puskesmas Lite. This research was used descriptive analytic design, with cross sectional approach. The population of this study was all health cadres in Puskesmas Lite consisted of 165 people. The sample were 65 people, recruited was used simple random sampling. Independent variables were health volunteers knowledge and attitude. While dependent variable was pulmonary TB case finding. The data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Spearman rank test with α≤0.05. The results showed that there was a very strong correlation between knowledge and attitude with health volunteers action in the case finding of TB (p=0.000; r=1.000). It can be concluded that the level of knowledge and attitude of health volunteers affecting their action in case finding of TB in the community. Nurses should provide information to the health volunteers more frequently, to improve their knowlegde and attitude.
