Abstract :

This  paper  describes  the  importance  of  continuous  feedback  to  support  effective  performance appraisal. Many  organizations have implemented performance appraisal to identify  strength  and weakness of their  human resources. However ,  the  implementation of performance appraisal mainly focusedon the documents required for performance appraisal which will be used as a legal basis to evaluate  their  employees.  There  are  a  lot  of  information  and  benefitsby performing  performance appraisal,  for  both  of  employees  and  organization,  and  also  for  self‐development  and  organizational development. Unfortunately ,  the information just become a historical documents with no follow up, which  make  many  employees  appreciate  performance  appraisal  less.  Appraisers  and  those  who  were apprisedcouldn't  experiences  the  benefit  of  performance  appraisal,  the  only  thing  they  got  is uncomfortable  feeling.  For  those  who  were  apprised,  they  don't  feel  the  benefit  after  they  were appraised  because  there  was  simply  no  feedback.  They  didn't  know  which  the  performance  that  need to be maintained, corrected or improved.  Through this paper ,  the author suggests that organization have  to  prioritize  continuous  feedback  on  performance  appraisal  process.  Without feedback,  the process  of  performance  appraisal  will  not  run  effectively.
