The development of religiosity in late adolescence

Abstract :

Life values adopted by society are influenced by cultural globalization, the increase of the flow of communication and the development of science and technology. These aspects have positive and negative impact on the human religious development. This study aims to explore the effects of such phenomena to the development of religiosity in late adolescence. Subjects were four Psychology students, aged between 19-20 years old. This is a case study using qualitative approach. The results showed the description of the background of the students religious life, religious aspects, significant others to religious life, and the stages of religious development. There were similarities as well as differences among four cases in relation to religious aspects due to difference in their experience backgrounds. The differences were also found in the stages of their religious development. In addition, it is clearly that parents play an important role to the subject’s religious life development.
