Abstract :
Dunaliella salina is one of a fairly good natural food for fish. These organisms are a popular food source in the rotifer culture, scallops, and shrimp larvae. In the growth of D. salina requires both micro and macronutrient nutrition which is a constituent cells. A. pinnata is a plant that is often used as a substitute for urea fertilizer because it can bind large enough nitrogen. Nutrient content of N> 2.5% causing this plant can be used as fertilizer on D. salina culture. N and P nutrients is the limiting factor for the growth of D. salina, beside that the components that make chlorophyll which consists of N, P, Mg and Fe. The high N concentration of A. pinnata will spur an increase in chlorophyll content in D. salina. Besides the need for other nutrients, the content of Mg and Fe in A. pinnata also could spur the increase in chlorophyll content of D. salina. Mg is one of a metal element and also one of the factors that affecting the chlorophyll forming. Moreover, Mg is also the only metallic element contained in a chlorophyll compounds. Therefore the use of A. pinnata fertilizers is to increase the growth of D. salina population and also it can increase the chlorophyll content of D. salina. The method used in this research is experimental methods. While the design used in this research was completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and four replications. The main parameters measured in this research were chlorophyll content of D. salina. The supporting parameters include the population of D. salina and water quality consisting of water temperature, pH, and salinity. The results showed in this research that the addition of A. pinnata fertilizer with concentration of 9.5 ml/l, produced the highest chlorophyll-a that is 0.0825μg / l on the fifth day and the highest chlorophyll-b that is 0.0805 μg/l on the fourth day. While the best growth concentration is in the treatment A (3.5 ml/l) at a density of 115x104 cells/ml. The highest peak of population is on the fifth day. The results of the water quality measurements of the water temperature during the research are ranged from 30-33oC, the measurements of salinity in the D. salina culture medium ranged between 30-65ppt and a pH range of 7-9.
