Abstract :

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of green grass jelly leaf infusum (Cyclea barbata Miers) as anti-inflammatory stomach in rats (Rattus norvegicus) were induced by caffeine. Twenty four male rats of Wistar strain aged 8 weeks were divided into six treatment groups, each of the 4 tail. Treatment K (-) = control, K (+) = 10 days of treatment caffeine, caffeine P1=10 days of treatment, the treatment ranitidine 7 days, P2 = caffeine 10 - day treatment, treatment infusum grass jelly leaves 25% 7 days, P3 = caffeine treatment 10 days, leaves of grass jelly infusum treatment 50% 7 days, P4 = caffeine 10-day treatment, treatment of grass jelly leaf infusum 100% 7 days. After 7 days of treatment infusum administration, the mice were sacrificed and then the pH of gastric acid was measured and histopathological examination of gastric mucosa which includes ulceration, inflammatory and inflammatory cells. The results showed a highly significant difference (p<0.01) both pH and gastric mucosal histopathology. The best results infusum at a concentration of 50%.
