Incidence of urolithiasis in the dogs at animal health care center in surabaya, period 2012-2013

Abstract :

Urolithiasis frequently found on dogs as an impact of dry food given regularly, mismanagement of pet, and lack of water intake. Crystals of calcium oxalate (CaOx) crystal was the type most often occurs in dogs. The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of urolithiasis in dogs in Surabaya, which was examined at animal health care center in Surabaya, based on the cause of urolithiasis (age, sex, and kind of the dog). Data was performed at the two veterinary services Animal Hospital and two Animal Clinic in Surabaya, began January 1, 2012 until December 31, 2013, and analyzed using regression tree method for exploratory data variables were many and complex. Results of research on the incidence of urolithiasis in dogs, show that cases of urolithiasis in dogs the number of cases of urolithiasis were 53 dogs. There were 38 (71,7%) cases dogs that detected urolithiasis and 15 (28,3%) dogs not detected. This study revealed incidence of urolithiasis in dogs were examined at the Animal Health Care Center in Surabaya was influenced by age (old dog) sex (male) and kind of the dog (breed dog).
