Ketebalan kornea sentral pada penderita diabetes mellitus tipe 2 sebelum dan setelah fakoemulsifikasi

Abstract :

This is a longitudinal observational study to prove the correlation between central corneal thickness of Diabetic patients type 2,before and after phacoemulsification. Ultrasound pachymetry were performed preoperativelly and postoperatively on day 1 and day8 in 48 patient. The sample was divided into two groups of patients : 30 of them were non-diabetic patients, and 18 were diabeticpatients. The average central corneal thickness preoperative was 541.33 ± 37.30 μm, at 1 day postoperative was 645.67 ± 82.93μm, and at 8 day postoperative was 562.00 ± 50.33 μm in diabetic patients. The average central corneal thickness preoperative was514.13 ± 30.61 μm, at 1 day postoperative was 589.77 ± 66.69 μm, and at 8 day postoperative was 530.50 ± 34.54 μm in non-diabeticpatients. The increase in central corneal thickness before and after phacoemulsification performed on the 1st and 8th postoperativedays found in diabetic patients compared to non-diabetic patients was statistically significant (p < 0.05, t-test). In ConclusionsPhacoemulsification had increased central corneal thickness in diabetic patients when compared with non-diabetic patients.
