Abstract :
Land settlement, especially plantation managed by state, army, forestry department and private, by farmers cannot be separated from the fall of Soeharto’s regime. After the fall of the regime, reformation discourse-along with its difference meanings given by society-enters and becomes inseparable part of the society’s everyday life. Farmers consider themselves as posses right over the land owned by the state and managed by state plantation corporation, then find the best moment to get back their lands. This movement, in turn becomes land conflict. Therefore violence cannot be avoided.
