Abstract :

Recently quite rarely that students moral movement had become political movement. The students violence in Makassar had brought shame to the students and  universities existence. This study aimed to construct social factors on a series of demonstrations and protests phenomenon of students in Makassar that lead to acts of violence and vandalism. The phenomenon was contradictory to the existence and attributes of students as intellectual actors and agents of change. This study used qualitative approach. This method presented the research design, data collection procedures, data recording procedures, data analysis procedures and verification measures. Violence and vandalism of students adopting political expression patterns that transcend conventional boundaries, giving rise to unrest in the community, campus, and the government. In conclusion, sociopolitical structure factor at the local and national be a trigger and reinforcing the emergence of violence and vandalism. Political issues are often the major factor rather than issues that are fighting for the claims of morality
